The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Parisi Carretero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vasco Codina saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Independiente de Quito defense, Urtzi Villafranca kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Vasco Codina. A collision led to Independiente de Quito getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Ferrer Fito hit a great ball. Vasco Codina showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Parisi Carretero in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Xanti Francia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Independiente de Quito's Loco Surga got a free kick in the 26th minute. 29 minutes into the game, Parisi Carretero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Vasco Codina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Anangonó Jaen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Parisi Carretero in the 35th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match, Carabalí Flamenco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Vasco Codina was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 44 minutes into the match, Parisi Carretero dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Vasco Codina, 4-0. After a rather tough play, Independiente de Quito's Ferrer Fito got a free kick in the 47th minute.

In the 78th minute, Parisi Carretero left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Cojiemies FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 8-0. Independiente de Quito's Vasco Codina played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carabalí Flamenco in the 83rd minute of play. 85 minutes into the game, Parisi Carretero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 9-0. Vasco Codina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vasco Codina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carabalí Flamenco, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Parisi Carretero received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Vasco Codina tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Cojiemies FC had played much better football throughout.
