Sanchez SC's attentive Americo Chandivilla managed to snatch the ball when Flavio Barbanera made a throw-in in the 30th minute of the game. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. If Alberto Ibarlucea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 75 minutes into the match, S.D. RAYO's goal looked a bit too open when George Dean came free, but Texeira Frecha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The corner ended in Xuan Fombona almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sanchez SC's Ronny Ortega did a great save. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
