The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 8 minutes into the match, Vito Maia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bernardo Cerejido. Roma de Ecuador FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vito Maia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bernardo Cerejido showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vito Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. 19 minutes into the match, Roma de Ecuador FC's goal looked a bit too open when Perez Guedella came free, but Bernardo Cerejido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 23rd minute, Zuri Salina got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 25th minute Vito Maia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Cerejido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match clock showed 25 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Vito Maia sped through Roma de Ecuador FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Cerejido. Bernardo Cerejido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vito Maia in the 31st minute of the match. Vito Maia took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernardo Cerejido. Bernardo Cerejido dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Arboleda Valcuende made the kick off in the second half. If Arboleda Valcuende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marlon Lordaliego in the 58th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Logroño's goalkeeper Honorato Dimo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bernardo Cerejido took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vito Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Roma de Ecuador FC's Bernardo Cerejido played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vito Maia in the 66th minute of play. Wilmer Montealegre sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bernardo Cerejido made a fantastic save in the 74th minute, when Vito Maia sent off a good shot on target. Bernardo Cerejido came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Club Deportivo Logroño's Vito Maia. But to his dismay, Vito Maia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Logroño's Urrutia Aledo got a free kick in the 80th minute. Vito Maia who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 93rdth minute tested the skills of Bernardo Cerejido when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 95 minutes, Vito Maia took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Bernardo Cerejido to make any attempt to save it. The Roma de Ecuador FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Club Deportivo Logroño were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
