The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match clock showed 6 minutes, the score became 1-0 when George Dean sped through Roma de Ecuador FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Cerejido. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Arboleda Valcuende managed to get in a good position for a shot. Roma de Ecuador FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Arboleda Valcuende was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronny Ortega breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 11th match minute, Sanchez SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Chillon to maneuver through the defense. Ronny Ortega made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zuri Salina in the 16th minute of play. After 17 played minutes Roma de Ecuador FC got a freekick which was hit by Mina Montejo. Ronny Ortega showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marlon Lordaliego, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Americo Chandivilla during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Sanchez SC getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Americo Chandivilla hit a great ball. The supporters of Sanchez SC booed when Roma de Ecuador FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zuri Salina didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rene Chillon was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Sanchez SC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a rather tough play, Roma de Ecuador FC's Sebastian Barea got a free kick in the 35th minute. After 38 played minutes Sanchez SC got a freekick which was hit by George Dean. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Arboleda Valcuende to make the kick off. If Arboleda Valcuende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Ibarlucea in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernardo Cerejido prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th match minute, Sanchez SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rene Chillon to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Roma de Ecuador FC booed when Sanchez SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Americo Chandivilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bernardo Cerejido showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Ibarlucea in the 62nd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Sanchez SC's Blandón Dobarral got a free kick in the 63rd minute. Roma de Ecuador FC's Marlon Lordaliego got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bernardo Cerejido made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Ibarlucea in the 74th minute of play. Alberto Ibarlucea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Cerejido having to interfere. Zuri Salina could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 83rd minute of the match, but Ronny Ortega made a huge save. Nicolas Trespuentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. There was no doubt that Sanchez SC were the better team. Sanchez SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
