RAYO's zone, Stalin Cabezuela stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Texeira Frecha came out of the goal and Stalin Cabezuela tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 5 minutes into the match, S.D. RAYO's goal looked a bit too open when Ignacio Lauro came free, but Texeira Frecha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to S.D. RAYO getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Obregón Represa hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice moves Tenorio Seto could shoot a difficult shot in the 11th minute, which Roberto Bermudo however easily saved by the left post. After some careless play in the S.D. RAYO defense, Ignacio Lauro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Texeira Frecha. The S.D. RAYO fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Texeira Frecha should have stopped the shot. Texeira Frecha came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate's Rafael de la Rosa. But to his dismay, Rafael de la Rosa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Ignacio Lauro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Texeira Frecha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ignacio Lauro, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After 26th play minutes Ignacio Lauro shot 0-3, a short shot which went by Texeira Frecha and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 29th minute, Stalin Cabezuela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Stalin Cabezuela managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate's supporters rose to their feet, but Stalin Cabezuela was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Texeira Frecha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The River Plate fans' excitement grew in the 44th match minute when River Plate's Stalin Cabezuela looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene.

The wind increased when Ignacio Lauro made the kick off in the second half. Stalin Cabezuela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Texeira Frecha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavio Barbanera kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. With a little luck, S.D. RAYO's Texeira Frecha got control of the ball when Ignacio Lauro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ignacio Lauro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Texeira Frecha having to make a save. Roberto Bermudo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tenorio Seto, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Roberto Bermudo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tenorio Seto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 71 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Stalin Cabezuela sped through S.D. RAYO's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Texeira Frecha. River Plate's Jonatan Rioseco was substituted for Stalin Cabezuela. After 78 played minutes S.D. RAYO got a freekick which was hit by Cortez Talavera. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Flavio Barbanera during the 81st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 80th minute, one of S.D. RAYO:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for S.D. RAYO. Rafael de la Rosa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 87th minute, Ignacio Lauro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The supporters of River Plate booed when S.D. RAYO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cortez Talavera didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ignacio Lauro got free with Texeira Frecha in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to S.D. RAYO getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Flavio Barbanera hit a great ball. If Ignacio Lauro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 99th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. River Plate's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
