In the 21st minute, Urrutia Aledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 24 minutes, George Dean put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of George Catalan. A hard shot 28 in the game by Alberto Ibarlucea from a close distance when the talented George Catalan managed to make a qualified save. Club Deportivo Logroño's players were relieved. George Catalan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from George Dean in the 29th minute of play. Xzavaier Saucedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without George Catalan having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Dean in the 46th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Logroño's goalkeeper George Catalan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
