Spectators: 7966 (Terracing: 5976, Seating: 1832, VIP seats: 158) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Chico Carabajo got the match started through his kick off. After 4 minutes of play, Carnot's Angel Lizaso made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Xalvador Rodas was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julian Salcines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xalvador Rodas having to interfere. If Julian Salcines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Urdaspal Aviñante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nando Torralbo having to interfere. After 28 played minutes Guayaquil S.C. got a freekick which was hit by Felix Villapun. The audience thought a goal was coming when Angel Lizaso got free with Xalvador Rodas in the 36th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chico Carabajo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xalvador Rodas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chico Carabajo in the 43rd minute of the match. Chico Carabajo blasted a shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Xalvador Rodas having to make a save. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rolando Peramato made a kick off. Xalvador Rodas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Carabajo in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Carnot booed when Guayaquil S.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christian Albizuri didn't get a good kick on the ball. 60 minutes in the game, Chico Carabajo dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, Guayaquil S.C.'s Christian Albizuri got a free kick in the 61st minute. In the 64th minute Chico Carabajo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Xalvador Rodas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Rolando Peramato dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nando Torralbo, 1-2. 72 minutes into the match, Guayaquil S.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Chico Carabajo came free, but Xalvador Rodas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75thth minute of the game Chico Carabajo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guayaquil S.C.'s Xalvador Rodas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Chico Carabajo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Xalvador Rodas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chico Carabajo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Xalvador Rodas having to interfere. Xalvador Rodas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Carabajo in the 93rd minute of play. When the final whistle went the supporters of Guayaquil S.C. were delighted that their team had defeated the much more dominant Carnot side.
