In the 17thth minute of the game Leo Cardenas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Guayaquil S.C.'s Xalvador Rodas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vellito Manzano in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Xalvador Rodas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Leo Cardenas in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Xalvador Rodas saved Guayaquil S.C. from getting behind. USFQ FC's Damian Dubilas proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save USFQ FC from getting a goal against them. USFQ FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 62 minutes, Leo Cardenas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the USFQ FC and the Guayaquil S.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. With his leg Xalvador Rodas managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when USFQ FC's Leo Cardenas fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 93 minutes into the match, Guayaquil S.C.'s goalkeeper Xalvador Rodas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leo Cardenas. When the match was over USFQ FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Guayaquil S.C. throughout the match.
