Jorge Bojarte kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. Chucho Dean made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yoel Miera in the 7th minute of play. Paiva Escabi might have been able to make a better finish in the 10th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ramón Viera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paiva Escabi ran back to his position shaking his head. Marco Urquiza kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Ramón Viera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Bojarte, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. If Yoel Miera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Castro Rilo hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Manta SC's Rey Carmona got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Ramón Viera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Astillero del Guayas's Chucho Dean played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rey Carmona in the 38th minute of play. Ramón Viera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Urritz Hurtaran in the 46th minute of play. Ramón Viera made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Marco Urquiza sent off a good shot on target. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rey Carmona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Ramón Viera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ximun Tocos, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. Ramón Viera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jorge Bojarte in the 53rd minute of the match. Chucho Dean made a fantastic save in the 60th minute, when Bustos Davalos sent off a good shot on target. In the 66th minute, Ximun Tocos ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ramón Viera was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. 69 minutes into the match, Astillero del Guayas's Gustavo Oro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ramón Viera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 72 minutes into the match, Manta SC's goal looked a bit too open when Garcia Jado came free, but Ramón Viera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74thth minute of the game Jorge Bojarte who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Manta SC's Ramón Viera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Astillero del Guayas's Urritz Hurtaran got a free kick in the 76th minute. Manta SC's Rey Carmona shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 76th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Chucho Dean but with some difficulty. In the 78th minute, Jorge Bojarte left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Astillero del Guayas fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. If Jorge Bojarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 84th minute Garcia Jado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramón Viera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Garcia Jado sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Manta SC's zone, Ximun Tocos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramón Viera came out of the goal and Ximun Tocos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Astillero del Guayas walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
