The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zamora Grado during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 3rd match minute, CórdovaFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zamora Grado to maneuver through the defense. Walme Oruña kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Segundo Barbadillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xandro Carlos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Anibal Ybarbo having to interfere. Gustavo Xandri had several of the Universidad Catolica's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 13 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Anibal Ybarbo as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Xurdin Villasinda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zamora Grado in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Anibal Ybarbo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After 31 minutes of play CórdovaFC's Walme Oruña was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 30th minute, one of CórdovaFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for CórdovaFC. Iza Iruz placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! Anibal Ybarbo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xandro Carlos in the 35th minute of the match. In the 36thth minute of the game Zamora Grado who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Universidad Catolica's Anibal Ybarbo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Zamora Grado struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Anibal Ybarbo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CórdovaFC. Xurdin Villasinda sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Walter Montalvo kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

CórdovaFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Xurdin Villasinda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Ybarbo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Universidad Catolica's Anibal Ybarbo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavio Comillas in the 85th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Zamora Grado managed to get in a good position for a shot. CórdovaFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Zamora Grado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Anibal Ybarbo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. CórdovaFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zamora Grado was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Campos Ruales charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a rather tough play, Universidad Catolica's Campos Ruales got a free kick in the 90th minute. Xurdin Villasinda blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Anibal Ybarbo having to make a save. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. CórdovaFC had played much better football throughout.
