Eugenio Alvaredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Mandrak in the 3rd minute of the match. González Juan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Xandro Inestrosa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Sport Emelec's González Juan got control of the ball when Leo Barbosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. Vicente Leon were awarded a corner in the 7th minute after Club Sport Emelec's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Espiga Aranzabal took the corner. After taking down the ball on Vicente Leon's corner Espiga Aranzabal fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and González Juan quite easily take care of the ball. Club Sport Emelec's González Juan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 8th minute of the match, managed to save Club Sport Emelec from getting a goal against them. González Juan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Behr in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateus Arvelo in the 13th minute of play forced Vicente Leon's goalkeeper Eugenio Alvaredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. González Juan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lavalle Dieguez, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Eugenio Alvaredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Arvelo in the 23rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Vicente Leon defense, Martín Mandrak kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eugenio Alvaredo. The Vicente Leon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eugenio Alvaredo should have stopped the shot. 27 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goalkeeper González Juan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Xandro Inestrosa. In the 30th minute of the match, Lavalle Dieguez tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but González Juan saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to Club Sport Emelec getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Jesse De Weijgaert hit a great ball. Leo Barbosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Valiente Cisneros kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving González Juan. That made the score 1-1 in the 36 minute of play. After having played for 40 minutes, Nicolas Behr managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vicente Leon's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nicolas Behr was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Martín Mandrak charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Martín Mandrak the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Club Sport Emelec getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Martín Mandrak hit a great ball. After 45 minutes Club Sport Emelec's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Espiga Aranzabal who took care of the corner kick. The corner led to Vicente Leon's Nicolas Behr getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Eugenio Alvaredo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mateus Arvelo in the 48th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

53 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Behr came free, but González Juan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot by Jesse De Weijgaert from long distance, 55 minutes into the match, got Eugenio Alvaredo's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Eugenio Alvaredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Martín Mandrak, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. After a rather tough play, Vicente Leon's Nicolas Behr got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59thth minute of the game Leo Barbosa who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Club Sport Emelec's González Juan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. González Juan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lavalle Dieguez in the 60th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Mateus Arvelo got free with Eugenio Alvaredo in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Delgado Murueta hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 71st minute, Leo Barbosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. González Juan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. González Juan came out of the goal in the 74th minute to try and stop a shot by Vicente Leon's Lavalle Dieguez. But to his dismay, Lavalle Dieguez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lavalle Dieguez in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg González Juan saved Club Sport Emelec from getting behind. Vicente Leon's Leo Barbosa got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute, Club Sport Emelec's Martín Mandrak dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-3. With a little luck, Vicente Leon's Eugenio Alvaredo got control of the ball when Mateus Arvelo tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 95 minutes, Mateus Arvelo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Sport Emelec's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateus Arvelo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vitor Paz kicked well hit freekick during the 96th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Vicente Leon's zone, Leif Helander stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eugenio Alvaredo came out of the goal and Leif Helander tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
