The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 3rd minute, but González Juan got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Club Sport Emelec hanging dry this time. 4 minutes into the match, Club Sport Emelec's goal looked a bit too open when Xeromo Llarena came free, but González Juan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leoverliz Carlos struck a weak shot in the 10th minute. González Juan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for KRAKEN FC. KRAKEN FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cássio Mansilha in the 15th minute. A very nice done corner allowed Leoverliz Carlos to score against González Juan in Club Sport Emelec's goal. 2-0 after 15 minutes. After 18 played minutes KRAKEN FC got a freekick which was hit by Ferrer Collazos. 23 minutes into the match, KRAKEN FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mateus Arvelo came free, but Jacobo Urraburu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 26th minute, Eduardo Zambranos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 31st minute, KRAKEN FC's Xeromo Llarena dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. González Juan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Xeromo Llarena in the 36th minute of play. In the 39th match minute, Club Sport Emelec was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Esteban Udobro to maneuver through the defense. González Juan made a fantastic save in the 45th minute, when Xeromo Llarena sent off a good shot on target. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Xeromo Llarena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 53 played minutes KRAKEN FC got a freekick which was hit by Fabian Sandoval. A collision led to Club Sport Emelec getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Esteban Udobro hit a great ball. Club Sport Emelec's González Juan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabian Sandoval in the 62nd minute of play. Xeromo Llarena might have been able to make a better finish in the 65th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over González Juan. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Xeromo Llarena ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jácome Vilardell in the 66th minute of play forced Club Sport Emelec's goalkeeper González Juan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on KRAKEN FC's corner Leoverliz Carlos fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and González Juan quite easily take care of the ball. González Juan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xeromo Llarena in the 71st minute of the match. Xeromo Llarena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without González Juan having to make a save. 84 minutes into the match, KRAKEN FC's Xeromo Llarena sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that González Juan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xeromo Llarena in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg González Juan saved Club Sport Emelec from getting behind. Jacobo Urraburu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Martín Mandrak in the 90th minute of play. After 92 played minutes KRAKEN FC got a freekick which was hit by Jácome Vilardell. González Juan didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Xeromo Llarena went, in the 96th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The KRAKEN FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Club Sport Emelec had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
