A wasted opportunity for Real Guayaquil.F.C.. 94 minutes into the game, Ysidro Ares was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. EGOS SPORT CLUB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Real Guayaquil.F.C. the free kick. After 94 played minutes EGOS SPORT CLUB got a freekick which was hit by Ysidro Ares. The EGOS SPORT CLUB supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing EGOS SPORT CLUB would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
