But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that García Esquivel couldn't finish the play. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Felix Barela as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli's Felix Barela got control of the ball when Oxarra Bernaldo tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guayaquil fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The wind increased when Cristian Chinchilla made the kick off in the second half. Leo Løhr fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Barela having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perrando Urive in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Felix Barela saved Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli from getting behind. In the 53rd minute of the match C. D. Guayaquil got a corner. Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Oxarra Bernaldo ran over to the corner to take the kick. Felix Barela made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rúben Costa in the 57th minute of play. After 64 played minutes Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli got a freekick which was hit by Xinto Aguilera. After some careless play in the Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli defense, Oxarra Bernaldo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Felix Barela. The Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Felix Barela should have stopped the shot. Oxarra Bernaldo spun around in front of the goal 73 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli's goal. 75 minutes into the game, Oxarra Bernaldo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 8-0. Felix Barela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After having played for 78 minutes, Oxarra Bernaldo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. C. D. Guayaquil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Oxarra Bernaldo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Oxarra Bernaldo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felix Barela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Oxarra Bernaldo's shot from short distance in the 82nd minute. In the 83rd minute Leo Løhr shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Felix Barela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Perrando Urive in the 84th minute of play forced Freibeuter of Sankt Pauli's goalkeeper Felix Barela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
