The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 5 played minutes C. D. Guayaquil got a freekick which was hit by Joaquin Balines. With a little luck, Pxnda SC's Xavion Ponga got control of the ball when Leo Løhr tried to sneak it across the goal line. 9 minutes into the match, Pxnda SC's goalkeeper Xavion Ponga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Perrando Urive. After some careless play in the Pxnda SC defense, Leo Løhr kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Xavion Ponga. The Pxnda SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Xavion Ponga should have stopped the shot. Leo Løhr could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 14th minute of the match, but Xavion Ponga made a huge save. 15 minutes into the match, C. D. Guayaquil's goal looked a bit too open when Eugenio Cobian came free, but Aires Cendegui reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Xavion Ponga made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Rúben Costa sent off a good shot on target. Xavion Ponga made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oxarra Bernaldo in the 17th minute. 17 minutes into the match, Pxnda SC's goalkeeper Xavion Ponga had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Oxarra Bernaldo. Xavion Ponga was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Leo Løhr's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Xavion Ponga firmly grabbed it by the left post. Xavion Ponga showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from García Esquivel in the 34th minute of the match. After some careless play in the C. D. Guayaquil defense, Eugenio Cobian kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Aires Cendegui. The C. D. Guayaquil fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aires Cendegui should have stopped the shot. Xavion Ponga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Oxarra Bernaldo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eugenio Cobian might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aires Cendegui. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eugenio Cobian ran back to his position shaking his head. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-2 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Eugenio Cobian stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Xavion Ponga didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Oxarra Bernaldo went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. Pxnda SC's attentive Diego Manso managed to snatch the ball when Zabal Arellano made a throw-in in the 53rd minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugenio Cobian in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aires Cendegui saved C. D. Guayaquil from getting behind. 56 minutes into the match, Pxnda SC's goal looked a bit too open when Oxarra Bernaldo came free, but Xavion Ponga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Oxarra Bernaldo made a precise shot to the right of Xavion Ponga. Pxnda SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. Xavion Ponga took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Perrando Urive, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Xavion Ponga dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by García Esquivel in the 76th minute of play forced Pxnda SC's goalkeeper Xavion Ponga to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 77 minutes into the match, Pxnda SC's goal looked a bit too open when Rúben Costa came free, but Xavion Ponga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 80th minute, Oxarra Bernaldo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal.
