The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Martinez Cines nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mendoza Vall made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Beto Márcico in the 5th minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beto Márcico hit a great freekick 6 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, CORSARIO's Xavieon Peres got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 13th minute Damian Maftei shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mendoza Vall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Willy Reynolds had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aguinaga Nebot took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Chucho Garrido, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 25th minute Chucho Garrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aguinaga Nebot saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stefanos Terzopoulos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Mendoza Vall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Willy Reynolds in the 33rd minute of the match. 36 minutes had been played when some careless play by CORSARIO's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Stefanos Terzopoulos was slow to take the kick. During this time Esmeraldas S.C.'s players had a chance to rest. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Willy Reynolds was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mendoza Vall in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 39th minute Willy Reynolds shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mendoza Vall saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Elia Petito to make the kick off. A hard shot 51 in the game by Willy Reynolds from a close distance when the talented Mendoza Vall managed to make a qualified save. CORSARIO's players were relieved. Aguinaga Nebot made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Elia Petito in the 55th minute of play. CORSARIO's Mendoza Vall played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Maftei in the 58th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elia Petito in the 63rd minute of play forced Esmeraldas S.C.'s goalkeeper Aguinaga Nebot to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Esmeraldas S.C.'s Simon Caicedo pulled a muscle in his leg after 89 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Zunbeltz Villagran during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 89 played minutes CORSARIO got a freekick which was hit by Zunbeltz Villagran. A collision led to CORSARIO getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Zunbeltz Villagran hit a great ball. Mendoza Vall made an important save on a dangerous shot by Damian Maftei in the 94th minute. After a rather tough play, CORSARIO's You De got a free kick in the 95th minute. Stefanos Terzopoulos struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Mendoza Vall didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeraldas S.C.. The CORSARIO fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esmeraldas S.C. were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
