Xose Valtierra made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Meruendano in the 36th minute of play. With a little luck, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Ali Vedat Çelikyay got control of the ball when Gilson Damião tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xose Valtierra stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Venceslas Pumares's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Ali Vedat Çelikyay proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Union Y Progreso F.C. from getting a goal against them. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Javier Agudo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Santiago Meruendano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Xose Valtierra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. The corner ended in Fabio Cordarell almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caldo de Gallina Ranchero's Xose Valtierra did a great save. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Caldo de Gallina Ranchero's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabio Cordarell was slow to take the kick. During this time Union Y Progreso F.C.'s players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Bozhil Bakalchev got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Xose Valtierra quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 73 played minutes Caldo de Gallina Ranchero got a freekick which was hit by Gilson Damião. If Santiago Meruendano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Santiago Meruendano got free with Xose Valtierra in the 80th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Santiago Meruendano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
