Jama Valverde didn't get a good kick on the ball. 3 minutes into the game, Damian Maftei cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Xzavier Besteiro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Martinez Cines sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Azulgranas's Xzavier Besteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Azulgranas from getting a goal against them. Xzavier Besteiro made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Willy Reynolds sent off a good shot on target. Gomez Grandoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Aguinaga Nebot having to make a save. Willy Reynolds struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Xzavier Besteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Esmeraldas S.C.. Azulgranas's Xzavier Besteiro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Azulgranas from getting a goal against them. Azulgranas's Xzavier Besteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 31st minute of play. Xzavier Besteiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Stefanos Terzopoulos in the 32nd minute of the match. In the 44th match minute, Azulgranas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Antonio Melendez to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damian Maftei got free with Xzavier Besteiro in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 minutes Azulgranas's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Stefanos Terzopoulos who took care of the corner kick. At last the ball reached Ghitã Fratea at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of Azulgranas. 4-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gomez Grandoso made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Willy Reynolds in the 54th minute of play forced Azulgranas's goalkeeper Xzavier Besteiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 55th minute, Guerrón Barajo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the game, Esmeraldas S.C.'s Martinez Cines nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Xzavier Besteiro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-0. 69 minutes into the match, Willy Reynolds notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Azulgranas's Xzavier Besteiro. Xzavier Besteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Esmeraldas S.C. made a substitution. Daniel Castillo replaced Martinez Cines. When the match had gone on for 91 minutes, Stefanos Terzopoulos put it in 8-0 from a short distance just to the right of Xzavier Besteiro. Azulgranas's Xzavier Besteiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oskar Petersson in the 97th minute of play. Esmeraldas S.C.'s supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
