The crowd rose to their feet as Jakub Ziombkowski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Roman Masharov. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, ............'s goalkeeper Roman Masharov had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Éric Cantona. 17 minutes into the game, Éric Cantona recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Roman Masharov. Éric Cantona showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. Sebastian Hellkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Freddy Tartales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Freddy Tartales in the 19th minute of play forced Inter de Guayaquil FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Hellkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jakub Ziombkowski scored 3-0 in the 21st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Roman Masharov, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Sebastian Hellkvist made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Freddy Tartales in the 38th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Sean Hock hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roman Masharov made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Humberto Barragan sent off a good shot on target. Roman Masharov came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Inter de Guayaquil FC's Jörn Svartengren. But to his dismay, Jörn Svartengren quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. A collision led to Inter de Guayaquil FC getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Jörn Svartengren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Roman Masharov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. When Saffet Ataergin fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Guayaquil FC's protests and gave Saffet Ataergin a yellow card for diving instead. Inter de Guayaquil FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
