In the 8th match minute, Patillal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johans Lombillo to maneuver through the defense. Reggie Vaughn struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Duarte Septien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talquito. After some fancy dribbling in the 23rd minute, Goi Madariaga managed to get in a good position for a shot. Talquito's supporters rose to their feet, but Goi Madariaga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Septien breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Reggie Vaughn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Duarte Septien was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Reggie Vaughn showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 38 minute of play. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After 56 played minutes Talquito got a freekick which was hit by Constantino Villaño. If Goi Madariaga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 65th minute Goi Madariaga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Duarte Septien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 69 minutes, Goi Madariaga managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Talquito's supporters crossed their fingers, but Goi Madariaga was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Duarte Septien was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Duarte Septien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Goi Madariaga, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
