Seating: 1728, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Pueblo Hondona started the match with the kick off. Gaztea Piñera recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Gaztea Piñera managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Gaztea Piñera was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bonadona Basurto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Uxio Guiral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pueblo Hondona in the 20th minute of the match. With a little luck, Chapal FC's Uxio Guiral got control of the ball when Lope Rebollar tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Chapal FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Helder Riart to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Jaime Cisneros managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chapal FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Cisneros was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bonadona Basurto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Pueblo Hondona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 32nd minute, Brion Beguellina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gaztea Piñera had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 43rd minute, Jaime Cisneros left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Chapal FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Gaztea Piñera to strike the kick off in the second half. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gaztea Piñera in the 53rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bonadona Basurto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th minute Pueblo Hondona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uxio Guiral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Uxio Guiral showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lope Rebollar, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Lope Rebollar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 78th minute, Jaime Cisneros fired away a shot that was totally unreachable for Bonadona Basurto. The ball ended up just outside the left post, and Chapal FC's manager could be seen angrily pacing the sidelines. During the 85th minute of the match Quique Lagala completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Quique Lagala a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Chapal FC booed when Mairongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Guijano didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Marcelino Atienza got free with Bonadona Basurto in the 93rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
