Alianza Patriotica Cali's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Majajeyes the free kick. Toribio Noreña kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Geleberto Juarez might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Damaso Mattei. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geleberto Juarez ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Alianza Patriotica Cali booed when Majajeyes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Obano Betardo didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Florinio Sarra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute, Americo Centeñes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marques Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lop Gabiña in the 26th minute of the match. After having played for 27 minutes, Florinio Sarra managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alianza Patriotica Cali's supporters crossed their fingers, but Florinio Sarra was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Americo Centeñes hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Geleberto Juarez could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Damaso Mattei made a huge save. Alianza Patriotica Cali were awarded a corner in the 36th minute after Majajeyes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nardo Oñatibia took the corner. Nardo Oñatibia made a great header on Alianza Patriotica Cali's corner, it was just that Majajeyes's Damaso Mattei managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 40th match minute, Alianza Patriotica Cali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nardo Oñatibia to maneuver through the defense. Haroldo Izaga, 41 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Beturian Villagra stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Florinio Sarra received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Damaso Mattei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Majajeyes's zone, Geleberto Juarez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Damaso Mattei came out of the goal and Geleberto Juarez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Marques Vaz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lop Gabiña in the 59th minute. In the 59th match minute, Alianza Patriotica Cali was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teyo Ferran to maneuver through the defense. Beturian Villagra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 64thth minute of the game Florinio Sarra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Majajeyes's Damaso Mattei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Geleberto Juarez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florinio Sarra scored 1-0 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Damaso Mattei, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Geleberto Juarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 72ndth minute of the game Florinio Sarra who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Majajeyes's Damaso Mattei was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Damaso Mattei made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geleberto Juarez in the 74th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Florinio Sarra in the 76th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Damaso Mattei prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Isaio Echart recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Christobal Zuaza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the game, Alianza Patriotica Cali's Florinio Sarra nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Damaso Mattei made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Florinio Sarra in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Damaso Mattei saved Majajeyes from getting behind. Geleberto Juarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Damaso Mattei tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Alianza Patriotica Cali had played much better football throughout.
