An unexpected shot in the 10th minute by Nesto Goxenola got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Natanael Caras kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Gramalotal FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joanes Guztros was slow to take the kick. During this time Cañoneros club's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Cañoneros club's corner Henric Sudupe fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Theobald Herrasti quite easily take care of the ball. The supporters of Cañoneros club booed when Gramalotal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jose Sella didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Xarles Guereña in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theobald Herrasti saved Gramalotal FC from getting behind. Gaizka Eleizalde struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Theobald Herrasti didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cañoneros club. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jose Sella in the 29th minute of play forced Cañoneros club's goalkeeper Romildo Helguero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jose Sella fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Romildo Helguero having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cañoneros club's Camilo Aya got a free kick in the 32nd minute. If Gaizka Eleizalde had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Jose Sella had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 47th minute, Nesto Goxenola got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gaizka Eleizalde was the one to do the kick off. When Gaizka Eleizalde came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Cañoneros club fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaizka Eleizalde couldn't finish the play. Theobald Herrasti made a fantastic save in the 56th minute, when Xarles Guereña sent off a good shot on target. In the 58th match minute, Cañoneros club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Aya to maneuver through the defense. Nesto Goxenola struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Romildo Helguero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jose Sella in the 72nd minute of play. Xarles Guereña was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 76th minute. Cañoneros club's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Gaizka Eleizalde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jose Sella received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Romildo Helguero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Nesto Goxenola came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Gramalotal FC fans jumped to their feet.
