When the match had gone on for 29 minutes, Evelio Castrillon put it in 0-2 from a short distance just to the right of Xines Olmos. Millonarios FC's Evelio Castrillon got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in El piso es guaracha pa's zone, Pueblo Vasquez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Evelio Castrillon made the kick off in the second half. Evelio Castrillon might have been able to make a better finish in the 54th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Xines Olmos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eufemio Lino showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Estevon Palma, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, Evelio Castrillon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
