Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Makarios FC's Telo Ochagavia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Quirce Lopidana made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joaquin Ocouto in the 8th minute of play. Makarios FC's Quirce Lopidana played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nisio Sanles in the 10th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Telo Ochagavia's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ruben Asturias was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. In the 29th match minute, Deportivo Pereira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Montel Carulla to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Telo Ochagavia in the 30th minute of play forced Deportivo Pereira's goalkeeper Ruben Asturias to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Makarios FC's Telo Ochagavia in the 31st minute got a chance for a shot 31st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. If Rico Trasgallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nisio Sanles charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nisio Sanles the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Deportivo Pereira got a freekick which was hit by Nisio Sanles. A collision led to Deportivo Pereira getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Joaquin Ocouto hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Deportivo Pereira's zone, Telo Ochagavia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ruben Asturias came out of the goal and Telo Ochagavia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Joaquin Ocouto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Quirce Lopidana saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joaquin Ocouto to make the kick off. When Ramirez Velilla fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Makarios FC's protests and gave Ramirez Velilla a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Deportivo Pereira booed when Makarios FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ramirez Velilla didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 56 played minutes Makarios FC got a freekick which was hit by Armando Bergas. In the 59th minute, Nastasio Rey got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Quirce Lopidana stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Guillelme Olando's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. After 75 minutes of play, Deportivo Pereira's Nisio Sanles made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Quirce Lopidana was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Telo Ochagavia managed to get in a good position for a shot. Makarios FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Telo Ochagavia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
