Dubardo Villacorta came out of the goal and David Leturia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dubardo Villacorta made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Leturia in the 12th minute of play. When Millan Bermudez fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Matezamuro FC's protests and gave Millan Bermudez a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Matezamuro FC got a freekick which was hit by Millan Bermudez. If Froila Vierna had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Froila Vierna kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 17thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Matezamuro FC's keeper Dubardo Villacorta was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. When David Leturia came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Millonarios F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that David Leturia couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

52 minutes into the game, Froila Vierna cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Dubardo Villacorta was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Palos Mascarañas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Millan Bermudez in the 62nd minute of play forced Millonarios F.C.'s goalkeeper Sandaili Alcolea to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
