Spectators: 6789 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 50) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Fernan Quexada took the kick off in the first half of the match. Froila Guillamon hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Jesco Carbasa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Hondo Carrillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hondo Carrillo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Montae Arena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fernan Quexada recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 24th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, independiente's Crescencio Mescua got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 28 played minutes, Fortuna Xvii's Elivareo Abuleta shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Montae Arena came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Fortuna Xvii reached it. The supporters of independiente booed when Fortuna Xvii was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivareo Abuleta didn't get a good kick on the ball. Markvincent Trasagua's late challenge caught a independiente's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Markvincent Trasagua helped the player get up and apologised. Markvincent Trasagua hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Montae Arena came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Fortuna Xvii's Hondo Carrillo. But to his dismay, Hondo Carrillo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After 46 played minutes Fortuna Xvii got a freekick which was hit by Demesio Ferran. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jesco Carbasa stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Montae Arena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesco Carbasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the last second Montae Arena throw himself and got hold of the ball when Jesco Carbasa in the 59thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Hondo Carrillo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Froila Guillamon charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Froila Guillamon the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Froila Guillamon hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. If Flor Artache had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 72 minutes, Hondo Carrillo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortuna Xvii's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hondo Carrillo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hondo Carrillo's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 75thth minute, Montae Arena skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Montae Arena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jesco Carbasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fortuna Xvii's Jesco Carbasa got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th minute Jesco Carbasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Montae Arena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hondo Carrillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Montae Arena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jesco Carbasa in the 91st minute of the match. 93 minutes in the game, Jesco Carbasa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Montae Arena having to interfere. Hondo Carrillo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 95thth minute tested the skills of Montae Arena when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the final whistle sounded Fortuna Xvii left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than independiente.
