With an all-out effort, Sonson FC's Zacarias Plata threw himself towards the right post 6 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dalmau Larreta, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Isaias Helguera could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 7th minute of the match, but Zacarias Plata made a huge save. Isaias Helguera received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Zacarias Plata tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Quiroga's Zacarias Plata got control of the ball when Isaias Helguera tried to sneak it across the goal line. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Zacarias Plata showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Argoitz Caracedo fell near the penalty area in the 41st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Quiroga's protests and gave Argoitz Caracedo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Sonson FC booed when Quiroga was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. Argoitz Caracedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Isaias Helguera got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 44th minute, Sonson FC's Dalmau Larreta fired away a free kick that almost went in the goal. Zacarias Plata was prepared for the shot, but didn't have to make a play as the shot flew over the goal. Ezequiel Berria recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 48th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dalmau Larreta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 59thth minute of the game Leonardo Pineros who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sonson FC's Zuzen Alcalde was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 60 played minutes Sonson FC got a freekick which was hit by Ezequiel Berria. Milio Troncoso charged in rather forcefully in the 63rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 75th minute, Isaias Helguera left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Sonson FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Ezequiel Berria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zacarias Plata having to interfere. Zacarias Plata made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dalmau Larreta in the 80th minute of play. Gaspar Dulanto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zuzen Alcalde came out and tried to block the shot, but Gaspar Dulanto slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 88th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Pineros in the 90th minute of play forced Sonson FC's goalkeeper Zuzen Alcalde to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liberto Arlines got free with Zuzen Alcalde in the 98th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sonson FC had won after a very even match.
