When Laffitte Dolmos fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored A.C. Cartagena's protests and gave Laffitte Dolmos a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to A.C. Cartagena getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Laffitte Dolmos hit a great ball. Ekhi Mocellar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Malvin Sañez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Nicanor Medina showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis-Antonio Ibaizabal, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Ekhi Mocellar recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 43rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The wind increased when Luis-Antonio Ibaizabal made the kick off in the second half. Delmar Euque fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malvin Sañez having to interfere. Diego FC's attack was well implemented in the 55th minute, but when Ekhi Mocellar was about to shoot he didn't get a good hit on the ball and it hit the crossbar and flew over. Goal Kick. Laffitte Dolmos kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Malvin Sañez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristofor Peart in the 85th minute of play. When Luis-Antonio Ibaizabal came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the A.C. Cartagena fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis-Antonio Ibaizabal couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the game, Flavio Zamanillo cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Nicanor Medina was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The A.C. Cartagena players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Diego FC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
