After a defensive mix-up in millonarios fc's zone, Navarro Umaña stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ciriaco Andonaegui came out of the goal and Navarro Umaña tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jenaro Hebia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Andonaegui having to interfere. After a rather tough play, millonarios fc's Martin Borjas got a free kick in the 39th minute. Gladiadores F.C's Jenaro Hebia got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Jenaro Hebia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jenaro Hebia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ciriaco Andonaegui having to interfere. In the 46th minute Sanchez Escola shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ciriaco Andonaegui saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Navarro Umaña couldn't finish the play. 74 minutes into the game, Gladiadores F.C's Navarro Umaña nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ciriaco Andonaegui made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0.
