The supporters of Huararachon FC booed when Colombia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stefano Falla didn't get a good kick on the ball. Xanti Montalban showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Domingo Othaz in the 14th minute of the match. In the 14th minute, Inocencio Envito hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Roberto Verdenosa made a fantastic save in the 23rd minute, when Haimar Reboyras sent off a good shot on target. Haimar Reboyrass short, quick shot in the 27thth minute got Roberto Verdenosa to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 30 minutes into the match, Huararachon FC's goalkeeper Roberto Verdenosa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Haimar Reboyras. Huararachon FC's Roberto Verdenosa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Huararachon FC from getting a goal against them. Roberto Verdenosa made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Haimar Reboyras sent off a good shot on target. If Xavion Bizoso had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 47 played minutes Huararachon FC got a freekick which was hit by Txindoki Arbaiza. 48 minutes into the match, Ponce Guillamon sent off a long shot that looked like it was going straight into the goal, but because Roberto Verdenosa threw himself in his full length he managed to grip the ball by the left post, and there was no goal for Ponce Guillamon this time. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Ponce Guillamon was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 93rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 96th minute, Domingo Othaz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
