The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the game, Pello Mediavilla was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cuchara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Franco Canadiense the free kick. After a rather tough play, Cuchara's Pello Mediavilla got a free kick in the 4th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Eladio Guete managed to get in a good position for a shot. Franco Canadiense's supporters rose to their feet, but Eladio Guete was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serapio Uria breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Francisco Burgoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Serapio Uria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francisco Burgoa in the 10th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Cuchara's zone, Eladio Guete stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Serapio Uria came out of the goal and Eladio Guete tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 22 minutes, Fernanco Fuentes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cuchara's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fernanco Fuentes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Eladio Guete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Colon Borica received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Nalo Cañedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eladio Guete sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pello Mediavilla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Franco Canadiense getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Luzea Yurrita hit a great ball. In the 41st minute Fernanco Fuentes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nalo Cañedo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pello Mediavilla in the 45th minute of play forced Franco Canadiense's goalkeeper Nalo Cañedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pello Mediavilla stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Fernanco Fuentes lined in a short shot 0-1 behind a frustrated Nalo Cañedo. Fernanco Fuentes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Nalo Cañedo made a huge save. Fernanco Fuentes struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Nalo Cañedo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cuchara. Fernanco Fuentes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernanco Fuentes in the 70th minute of play forced Franco Canadiense's goalkeeper Nalo Cañedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cuchara's Fernanco Fuentes got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Francisco Burgoa's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Serapio Uria was relentless in the 77th minute of the game. Nalo Cañedo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Colon Borica went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. In the 92nd match minute, Cuchara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pello Mediavilla to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Franco Canadiense's zone, Fernanco Fuentes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nalo Cañedo came out of the goal and Fernanco Fuentes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Cuchara played a much better game than Franco Canadiense and deserved their victory. The Franco Canadiense players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
