In the 10thth minute of the game Natal Taramona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Engano FC's Tajo Contreras was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Engano FC's Gonzales Rosich got a free kick in the 10th minute. The supporters of Araca booed when Engano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lazcano Pelaz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 14 played minutes Araca got a freekick which was hit by Kepa Chillon. The audience thought a goal was coming when Kepa Chillon got free with Tajo Contreras in the 16th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Natal Taramona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teofilio Mella in the 29th minute of play forced Araca's goalkeeper Brion Zubizarrieta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Hug Reinosa fell near the penalty area in the 30th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Araca's protests and gave Hug Reinosa a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Araca getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Hug Reinosa hit a great ball. In the 35th minute there was a penalty for Engano FC. Bruno Baldonado stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Brion Zubizarrieta. 1-1. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Engano FC's goalkeeper Tajo Contreras, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 45th minute, Natal Taramona fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Tajo Contreras showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Natal Taramona in the 47th minute of the match. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Menendo Ceballos to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kepa Chillon in the 56th minute of play forced Engano FC's goalkeeper Tajo Contreras to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 60th match minute, Araca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oswaldo Barrena to maneuver through the defense. If Menendo Ceballos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Menendo Ceballos might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Brion Zubizarrieta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Menendo Ceballos ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 70th minute Kepa Chillon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tajo Contreras saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kepa Chillon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Natal Taramona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tajo Contreras having to interfere. After 86 minutes, Teofilio Mella mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Engano FC and the Araca players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 86th match minute, Engano FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Teofilio Mella to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 88 minutes, Kepa Chillon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Araca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kepa Chillon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 91 minutes into the match, Engano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Natal Taramona came free, but Tajo Contreras reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Araca's Brion Zubizarrieta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Menendo Ceballos in the 92nd minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Araca players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
