Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 6 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Petri Hondon came free, but Roano Fondos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ovando Lando's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mingo Cimbrelo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Todosnovan's Mingo Cimbrelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geofredo Zuniga in the 12th minute of play. In the 20thth minute of the game Petri Hondon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Atlético Nacional's Roano Fondos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Petri Hondon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Roano Fondos was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. Todosnovan's Mingo Cimbrelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geofredo Zuniga in the 28th minute of play. Roano Fondos stood somewhat misplaced when Petri Hondon came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 35 minute. After a rather tough play, Atlético Nacional's Calvet Davalos got a free kick in the 38th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petri Hondon in the 42nd minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Roano Fondos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 49th minute, Atlético Nacional's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Xzavion Cabaña fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Petri Hondon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Petri Hondon in the 58th minute of play forced Atlético Nacional's goalkeeper Roano Fondos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Xzavion Cabaña fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roano Fondos having to interfere. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Mingo Cimbrelo successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 66 minutes into the match, Atlético Nacional's goal looked a bit too open when Xzavion Cabaña came free, but Roano Fondos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Petri Hondon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Ovando Lando managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atlético Nacional's supporters rose to their feet, but Ovando Lando was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mingo Cimbrelo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Narciso Mancina during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Xzavion Cabaña recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In a very dangerous position, a player in Atlético Nacional fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 89th minute.
