The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Rogerio Archimbaud came up free with the goalie in the 3rd minute, the Club Vigia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rogerio Archimbaud couldn't finish the play. Pere Santotis kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. If Eguzki Gainza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th of the match, Rogerio Archimbaud tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Adolfo Subijana got in the way and made a wonderful save. If Crispo Mallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Rogerio Archimbaud took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Adolfo Subijana to make any attempt to save it. Ekaitz Asas took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Crispo Mallo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Crispo Mallo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Ekaitz Asas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Crispo Mallo in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ekaitz Asas prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a little luck, Motagua's Adolfo Subijana got control of the ball when Eguzki Gainza tried to sneak it across the goal line. Xever Estivariz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Motagua's Bazkoare Rascuro got a free kick in the 37th minute. If Crispo Mallo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hibai Iturbe fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ekaitz Asas having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Crispo Mallo to make the kick off. After having played for 51 minutes, Eguzki Gainza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Club Vigia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eguzki Gainza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Motagua's Bazkoare Rascuro got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Rogerio Archimbaud fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adolfo Subijana having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Mannie Seber hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Motagua's zone, Eguzki Gainza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adolfo Subijana came out of the goal and Eguzki Gainza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hibai Iturbe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 62nd minute Crispo Mallo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ekaitz Asas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eguzki Gainza recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Xever Estivariz kicked well hit freekick during the 74th minute of the match. Ekaitz Asas made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Hibai Iturbe sent off a good shot on target. 79 minutes into the match, Eguzki Gainza notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Motagua's Adolfo Subijana. Adolfo Subijana was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Adolfo Subijana took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eguzki Gainza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Crispo Mallo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Motagua players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club Vigia.
