After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Ildefonso Lassa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cauchitos's supporters rose to their feet, but Ildefonso Lassa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Galtero Eguizabal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ildefonso Lassa got free with Galtero Eguizabal in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 37 minutes into the match, Cauchitos's Serapio Arostegui sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Galtero Eguizabal narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After having played for 39 minutes, Ildefonso Lassa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cauchitos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ildefonso Lassa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Cauchitos booed when Santa Fe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ximen Mirafuentes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Serapio Arostegui was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 47th minute. Cauchitos's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Ildefonso Lassa was the one to do the kick off. If Primeiro Guren had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 3-1 became the score in the 55th minute when Ildefonso Lassa elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Galtero Eguizabal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Lassa in the 62nd minute of play. If Ildefonso Lassa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ximen Mirafuentes hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Primeiro Guren's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ricardo Saracho read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Galtero Eguizabal made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ildefonso Lassa in the 73rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Santa Fe defense, Serapio Arostegui kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Galtero Eguizabal. The Santa Fe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Galtero Eguizabal should have stopped the shot. Ildefonso Lassa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Galtero Eguizabal having to interfere. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Cauchitos fully deserved thier win.
