The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Baiona Carrete struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Leoncio Sosa didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for millonarios. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baiona Carrete in the 6th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leoncio Sosa saved El Vacile del Popeye FC from getting behind. Leoncio Sosa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edilberto Logroño, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Baiona Carrete fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leoncio Sosa having to interfere. After some careless play in the El Vacile del Popeye FC defense, Edilberto Logroño kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Leoncio Sosa. The El Vacile del Popeye FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Leoncio Sosa should have stopped the shot. Joanes Chacon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gartxot Ilardia having to interfere. Quirze Rubinos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bastia Lasalde in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leoncio Sosa saved El Vacile del Popeye FC from getting behind. With a little luck, millonarios's Gartxot Ilardia got control of the ball when Quirze Rubinos tried to sneak it across the goal line. millonarios's Gartxot Ilardia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joanes Chacon in the 30th minute of play. Joanes Chacon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 34 minutes, Ermegildo Cruzado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the millonarios and the El Vacile del Popeye FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 34th minute, Ermegildo Cruzado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bastia Lasalde sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 45 minutes of play, millonarios's Edilberto Logroño made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leoncio Sosa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Joanes Chacon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Gartxot Ilardia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 54th minute, Joanes Chacon made a precise shot to the right of Gartxot Ilardia. millonarios's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of El Vacile del Popeye FC booed when millonarios was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 61 match minutes in a wonderful position. Musko Ucedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 62nd minute, Bastia Lasalde hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alfredo Cogollor was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 63rd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Ermegildo Cruzado kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Bastia Lasalde kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute of the match Alfredo Cogollor shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gartxot Ilardia showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Quirze Rubinos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gartxot Ilardia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. El Vacile del Popeye FC's Quirze Rubinos got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Leoncio Sosa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Baiona Carrete, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Solustiano Carragal took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 79th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Gartxot Ilardia. millonarios's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After having played for 80 minutes, Quirze Rubinos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. El Vacile del Popeye FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quirze Rubinos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Quirze Rubinos took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gartxot Ilardia. Gartxot Ilardia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. Favila Cerbera hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Che Olozagoitia charged in rather forcefully in the 91st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Che Olozagoitia the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Che Olozagoitia hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Gartxot Ilardia showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joanes Chacon in the 93rd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Leoncio Sosa successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
