Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 17th minute, Paul Mauriz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kismi Docanado's late challenge caught a Atletico Nacional's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kismi Docanado helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to red´s getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Kismi Docanado hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Paul Mauriz in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christian Loinaz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 21 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for red´s! The referee gave Atletico Nacional a penalty, 23 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sadurni Bravain, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of red´s's Christian Loinaz. 0-1. In the 30th minute, Atletico Nacional's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Xarles Bacardi fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Atletico Nacional's zone, Angel Arecha stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Beat Sobremonte came out of the goal and Angel Arecha tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Angel Arecha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 38 minutes, Angel Arecha managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. red´s's supporters crossed their fingers, but Angel Arecha was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Filomeno Rodil hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. Atletico Nacional's Beat Sobremonte proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 48th minute of the match, managed to save Atletico Nacional from getting a goal against them. After the first half Atletico Nacional were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Angel Arecha to strike the kick off in the second half. Gorbea Azcona kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. When Oinatz Lombera was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 72 minutes had been played. In the 73rd match minute, red´s was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oinatz Lombera to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Paul Mauriz got free with Christian Loinaz in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
