The audience thought a goal was coming when Montes Santiyan got free with Alex Illan in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes into the match, Frantxizko Sarmanton notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Adhariel's Seber Galdamiz. Seber Galdamiz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Vesubio FC's goalkeeper Alex Illan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Vesubio FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rudolfo Monteserin ran over to the corner to take the kick. With an all-out effort, Adhariel's Alex Illan threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Chuan Careaga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Montes Santiyan in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alex Illan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 42nd minute, Adhariel's Berbiz Soba ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Alex Illan. Alex Illan yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-1. 45 minutes into the match, Vesubio FC's goal looked a bit too open when Montes Santiyan came free, but Alex Illan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Oriche Trancoso to make the kick off. Chuan Careaga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
