Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Sparcks FC's Roque Deza started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the Matapalito defense, Roque Deza kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tulio Armendarez. The Matapalito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tulio Armendarez should have stopped the shot. Merexildo Rolan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jairo Caras in the 9th minute of play. In the 11th minute, Roque Deza ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tulio Armendarez was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Zenaido Funes's late challenge caught a Matapalito's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Zenaido Funes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 17th minute, Zenaido Funes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The Matapalito manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Sparcks FC to win.
