The Matapalito fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tulio Armendarez should have stopped the shot. Xanti Morera's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tulio Armendarez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 8th minute of play. Dante Uriona's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 15thth minute, Tulio Armendarez skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 16 played minutes Tena city got a freekick which was hit by Beltxe Falip. In the 17th minute Jairo Caras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timo Cabrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jairo Caras fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Timo Cabrero having to interfere. Alvaro Urbino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 26th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Nicodemo Sierralta kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Cebo Millares hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Matapalito's Tulio Armendarez played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dante Uriona in the 31st minute of play. Xanti Morera kicked well hit freekick during the 33rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute Jairo Caras shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Timo Cabrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timo Cabrero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo Caras in the 46th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dante Uriona stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 61st minute Xanti Morera shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tulio Armendarez saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Tena city booed when Matapalito was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domeka Ascarretazabal didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tena city's Leandro Vilaplana couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 64th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Matapalito. Dante Uriona blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tulio Armendarez having to make a save. Rik Valiño's late challenge caught a Tena city's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rik Valiño helped the player get up and apologised. If Dante Uriona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Matapalito's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
