Pepillo Prelo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Nottingham Forest getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Sergio Cañucar hit a great ball. Zayvius Orol came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Independiente Medellin's Martin Quizan. But to his dismay, Martin Quizan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Independiente Medellin's zone, Florencio Sarricolea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pepillo Prelo came out of the goal and Florencio Sarricolea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 31 minutes into the match, Martin Quizan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zayvius Orol. Nottingham Forest's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Martin Quizan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. In the 37th minute, Benet Peralves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Martin Quizan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Independiente Medellin fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-4. 44 minutes into the match, Faruk Demirman notched a goal, 1-5, to the right of Nottingham Forest's Zayvius Orol. Zayvius Orol was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Martin Quizan who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 61stth minute tested the skills of Zayvius Orol when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Martin Quizan scored 1-6 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zayvius Orol, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 70 minutes, Sergio Cañucar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nottingham Forest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Cañucar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Benet Peralves kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Nottingham Forest's Xabat Elenes tried to score from far away in the 71st minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Martin Quizan in the 75thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Zayvius Orol, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. A collision led to Nottingham Forest getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Sergio Cañucar hit a great ball. Faruk Demirman might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zayvius Orol. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Faruk Demirman ran back to his position shaking his head. Florian Asas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Florencio Sarricolea came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the Nottingham Forest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Florencio Sarricolea couldn't finish the play. In the 95th match minute, Nottingham Forest was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Otsoa Candamo to maneuver through the defense. Independiente Medellin played a much better game than Nottingham Forest and deserved their victory. The Nottingham Forest players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
