In the 23rd minute Gaston Abalos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Errando Barnuevo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Errando Barnuevo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gaston Abalos, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. In the 28th minute Nacho Sorzano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Errando Barnuevo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes of play, Elbanco FC's Gaston Abalos made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The referee showed Milian Cavite the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Elbanco FC booed when Estrellas Doradas FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milian Cavite didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute of the match Teofilo Carreño sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Errando Barnuevo skillfully saved the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chucho Bares stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Esiquio Adarzo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 57 minutes into the match, Estrellas Doradas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gai Salomon came free, but Errando Barnuevo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
