Gaur Sempere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronaldinho Merayo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The R.B Leipzig fans' excitement grew in the 11th match minute when R.B Leipzig's Ronaldinho Merayo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Kaliningrad booed when R.B Leipzig was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ronaldinho Merayo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kismi Bolado's late challenge caught a R.B Leipzig's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kismi Bolado didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaur Sempere was out of position in the 17 minute of play, and Ronaldinho Merayo capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gaur Sempere was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. 42 minutes into the match, Kaliningrad's goalkeeper Gaur Sempere had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ronaldinho Merayo. Ronaldinho Merayo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaur Sempere having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as R.B Leipzig's Ronaldinho Merayo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Gaur Sempere. That made the score 7-0 after 47 minutes of play.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Xavon Solis was the one to do the kick off. After some careless play in the Kaliningrad defense, Ronaldinho Merayo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gaur Sempere. The Kaliningrad fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gaur Sempere should have stopped the shot. R.B Leipzig made a substitution. Benat Cañadas replaced Ian Sandoval. Elequemedo Mirafuentes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 65th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Gaur Sempere didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ronaldinho Merayo went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 10-0 was the resulting score. Benat Cañadas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gaur Sempere having to interfere. During the 76th minute of the match Moise Sebastian completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Moise Sebastian a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Gaur Sempere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Merayo, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Gaur Sempere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Artur Queto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
