After having played for 7 minutes, Wictor Vestberg managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Real Cartagena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wictor Vestberg was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 9 minutes into the match, Paulo Laurentzi notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine. Edwin Devine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Paulo Laurentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Edwin Devine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edwin Devine showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulo Laurentzi in the 26th minute of the match. Chus Ayarza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo Laurentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Edwin Devine tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dag Ahlrot in the 37th minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 45 minutes, Edwin Devine successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The wind increased when Paulo Laurentzi made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Criciúma Esporte Clube's zone, Chus Ayarza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Evelio Antoniano came out of the goal and Chus Ayarza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 54 played minutes Real Cartagena got a freekick which was hit by Israel Lazcano. Gaztea Regalado's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Edwin Devine on his right side and into the goal. 55 minutes into the game it was 3-0. 62 minutes into the game, Bieito Villaurreta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Edwin Devine was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 65 minutes of play, Real Cartagena's Chus Ayarza made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Evelio Antoniano was left in no man's land by his defense there! Criciúma Esporte Clube's Bartolomeo Simpson was substituted for Rapolas Jutkus. Gaztea Regalado kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Paulo Laurentzi might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Devine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Laurentzi ran back to his position shaking his head. Edwin Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriz Marques, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulo Laurentzi might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Devine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Edwin Devine showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Edwin Devine made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-1. In the 92nd minute Paulo Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Devine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gaztea Regalado kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Harris Geraets took the ball and in the 94 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Evelio Antoniano. Evelio Antoniano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-2. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Criciúma Esporte Clube fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Cartagena had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
