Rian Giggs might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edwin Devine. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rian Giggs ran back to his position shaking his head. Edwin Devine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rian Giggs, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. If Cássio Correia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 曾梁南 was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 18 minutes into the match. Real Cartagena's Rioja Pedrueca was substituted for Chus Ayarza. Edwin Devine had in the 20thth minute some difficulties stopping Cássio Correia's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Cássio Correia notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of Real Cartagena's Edwin Devine. Edwin Devine was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the match, Sabaneta FC's Roi Vergas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edwin Devine narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edwin Devine made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Cássio Correia sent off a good shot on target. Edwin Devine was out of position in the 33 minute of play, and Stanislaw Cempa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Stanislaw Cempa really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. Edwin Devine made a fantastic save in the 35th minute, when Stanislaw Cempa sent off a good shot on target. 38 minutes into the match, Roi Vergas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Edwin Devine. Real Cartagena's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Roi Vergas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. Kevin Mier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rioja Pedrueca in the 46th minute of the match. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Rioja Pedrueca made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Roi Vergas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edwin Devine saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Real Cartagena defense, Rian Giggs kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Edwin Devine. The Real Cartagena fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edwin Devine should have stopped the shot. Edwin Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rian Giggs, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 69 minutes Real Cartagena's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Osmundo Bolde who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Osmundo Bolde got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Edwin Devine quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Edwin Devine came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Sabaneta FC's Roi Vergas. But to his dismay, Roi Vergas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-0. Edwin Devine showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yoel Magarinos, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. Edwin Devine took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cássio Correia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Sabaneta FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Osmundo Bolde in the 92nd minute. The supporters of Real Cartagena booed when Sabaneta FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Osmundo Bolde didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zeru Recino hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. Alonzo Helguera, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Real Cartagena players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Sabaneta FC.
