The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some careless play in the C&H 1964 defense, Paulo Laurentzi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arotza Olmeda. The C&H 1964 fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arotza Olmeda should have stopped the shot. In the 8th minute, Paulo Laurentzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arotza Olmeda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. 12 minutes into the match, C&H 1964's goal looked a bit too open when Bieito Villaurreta came free, but Arotza Olmeda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to C&H 1964 getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Teo Otsando hit a great ball. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by C&H 1964's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Luiz Valadares was slow to take the kick. During this time Criciúma Esporte Clube's players had a chance to rest. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Gaztea Regalado was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arotza Olmeda in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Evelio Antoniano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ace Spade, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 28th minute, Paulo Laurentzi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arotza Olmeda was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. 33 minutes into the game, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Paulo Laurentzi nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Arotza Olmeda made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-4. Through an outstanding action, after 37 minutes, Evelio Antoniano successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a defensive mix-up in C&H 1964's zone, Bieito Villaurreta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arotza Olmeda came out of the goal and Bieito Villaurreta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mehmet Emin Kamer kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Criciúma Esporte Clube were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

In the 52nd minute Ace Spade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evelio Antoniano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo Laurentzi received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Arotza Olmeda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arotza Olmeda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Paulo Laurentzi in the 58th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Paulo Laurentzi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Criciúma Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Laurentzi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arotza Olmeda breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Criciúma Esporte Clube's Bartolomeo Simpson was substituted for Rapolas Jutkus. Criciúma Esporte Clube made a substitution. Eriz Marques replaced Bieito Villaurreta. With a little luck, C&H 1964's Arotza Olmeda got control of the ball when Eriz Marques tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 73 minutes C&H 1964's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luiz Valadares who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Criciúma Esporte Clube's corner Gaztea Regalado fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arotza Olmeda quite easily take care of the ball. Aureliano Veto kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Criciúma Esporte Clube's Arotza Olmeda threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Paulo Laurentzi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Evelio Antoniano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ace Spade in the 83rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, C&H 1964's Teo Otsando got a free kick in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the match, C&H 1964's goalkeeper Arotza Olmeda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Eriz Marques. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Criciúma Esporte Clube had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
