Mero Portero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar De León in the 13th minute of the match. Mariano Ireno kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. A throw-in in the 18th minute of the game was made by Aristides Caldas with Claude Sena as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. After some careless play in the Atlético Municipal defense, Bruno Fonso kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Chuan Cintron. The Atlético Municipal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Chuan Cintron should have stopped the shot. Mero Portero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Oscar De León in the 24th minute of the match. Club Ibiza's Mero Portero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Oscar De León in the 37th minute of play. In the 38th minute of the game Silvanito Gainza made a throw-in which Andoni Viguri played forward. Chuan Cintron stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Fonso's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Aristides Caldas charged in rather forcefully in the 42nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Aristides Caldas the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 42nd minute, Aristides Caldas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oscar De León in the 47th minute of play forced Club Ibiza's goalkeeper Mero Portero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Chuan Cintron made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Fonso in the 53rd minute of play. Aristides Caldas made in the 54th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Gau Resto however managed to control. Mariano Ireno's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Chuan Cintron read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. In the 58th play minute Bruno Fonso came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Chuan Cintron. 1-2. In the 65th minute, Oscar De León hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Club Ibiza made a substitution. Kazuo Koriotto replaced Bruno Fonso. Club Ibiza's Jaime Xavier was substituted for Ştefan Vornicescu. In the 69th minute, Club Ibiza's Kazuo Koriotto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. 75 minutes into the game, Kazuo Koriotto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Chuan Cintron was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Atlético Municipal's Henry Fiola was substituted for Willie Colon.
