In the 13th match minute, Canaima FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erasto Erce to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of Vega booed when Canaima FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rami Lastras didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Gainza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Alvaro Paya made a huge save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rami Lastras during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Canaima FC's Rami Lastras got a free kick in the 36th minute. In the 38th minute the ball was on its way in behind Canaima FC's goalkeeper Alvaro Paya, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fernando Gainzas short, quick shot in the 42ndth minute got Alvaro Paya to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. When Vega's Maties Irala in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Canaima FC's goalie prevented a goal. Alvaro Paya stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Gainza's shot from short distance in the 63rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maties Irala in the 66th minute of play forced Canaima FC's goalkeeper Alvaro Paya to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
