With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bernat Torres in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg John Vazan saved Curaguire from getting behind. Bernat Torres received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. John Vazan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Valente Argüelles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a rather tough play, Curaguire's Oihenarte Oblanca got a free kick in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curaguire's zone, James Terjida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. John Vazan came out of the goal and James Terjida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Guamo FC booed when Curaguire was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Ferragudo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 35 minutes of play, Guamo FC's James Terjida made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. John Vazan was left in no man's land by his defense there! James Terjida fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without John Vazan having to interfere. After having played for 53 minutes, Bernat Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Guamo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bernat Torres was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a little luck, Curaguire's John Vazan got control of the ball when James Terjida tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Curaguire's goalkeeper John Vazan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When James Terjida came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Guamo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Terjida couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Curaguire's John Vazan got control of the ball when James Terjida tried to sneak it across the goal line. Curaguire's Valente Argüelles got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Curaguire's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Juaneizu Barrantes was slow to take the kick. During this time Guamo FC's players had a chance to rest. Valente Argüelles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Bernabel Suso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Pablo Barrenechea charged in rather forcefully in the 85th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. In the 86th minute, Bernat Torres got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With an all-out effort, Guamo FC's John Vazan threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Bernat Torres, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 97 played minutes Curaguire got a freekick which was hit by Pablo Barrenechea. In the 98th minute of the match, James Terjida got a very nice opportunity to score, but John Vazan was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Guamo FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Guamo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
